Rent Renewal negotiations

 Can anyone share thier strategy and outcome for negotiating your lease. We were give the offer to keep our current rent--so no increase, but I am wodnering if that is the best we can do. We spoke to the management office, but I am thinking we should call Lefraks office.

We just had friends who called James Heller the manager and then called the Queens office. They got a better offer from James Heller

 we looked at some gateway

 we looked at some gateway apts, through the leasing office. Unrenovated ones in teh same building are going for $3600-$3800--not too much more than our unrenovated apt, but frankly I think we are better off trying to negotiate down than paying extra for renovations that are not that great. Unrenovated are in the same range as our current rent, so if we get sstuck with the higher renewal it won't really make sense.The main office has not been that concilliatory in terms of negotiations.
